Valve Releases Free New Game Today
Valve is
releasing a new shooter via Steam free of charge, with top-down four
player co-op shooter Alien Swarm
hitting PCs today.
Originally an Unreal Tournament mod, Alien Swarm has been re-imagined in
the latest iteration of Valve's Source engine, introducing a string of
additions to the 2004 original including Steamworks integration.
The release will also include the full SDK code, should you wish to have
a poke around under the hood.
It's being developed by Black Cat, the mod team who created the original
and went on to be acquired by Valve in 2008. We'll hopefully be
bringing you fuller impression of the game in the near future
