Valve Announces DotA 2
As a trademark filing hinted at back in August, Valve announced DOTA 2 today, a sequel to the first game made popular as a Warcraft III mod released in 2003.
DOTA 2 is being developed by IceFrog, an independent developer hired by Valve back in 2009. DOTA 2 promises to put a unique spin on the gameplay, which encompasses real-time strategy and role-playing game elements.
Valve was quiet on the rest of the details for the game. It's expected to launch for PC and Mac sometime in 2011.
