Valve to offer Steam trade-ins?
TPCG.com sister site, NowGamer, has unearthed some interesting gossip courtesy of industry analyst Michael Pachter: Trade-ins for your Steam Games. At a price…
In a recent interview with TPCG’s multi-format gaming mother ship, NowGamer.com, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter mulled different ways the games industry could approach the impact of pre-owned sales. Interestingly, he named Valves digital distribution platform, Steam, as one such method…
“Steam is phenomenal, it’s a great service,” Pachter explained, “Steam gives gamers enough other stuff so that they don’t resent the fact they can’t trade in their games. And you know, name all the Steam games that you’ve purchased that you’ve traded back in to somebody else for credit. Steam’s about to let you do that supposedly, you know like trade and exchange, but they’re going to take a fee from it.”
According to their story, NowGamer tried to contact Valve for comment, but has yet to receive a response.
